  • The Fit Flops Update

fit_flops.jpg image by cnrwardSo, "how are the fit flops doing?" I hear you ask. Well.... it's still early days but I can report an update on the fit flop situation.

First of all, they came with a warning. Yes, a warning to ease yourself into fit flop wear as they could cause you to have muscle aches (implying that wearing them is like doing sport when you haven't done any for a while).
Now, I have to be honest; I did laugh out loud when I read the warning label and I didn't really expect to have any problems but, I understand that in this day and age companies overwarn us to avoid litigation so I didn't laugh for ages.. My personal experience has not yet produced any muscle soreness. In fact, I am pretty sure that if you do use your legs on a day to day basis you will probably be OK.

Now, the fit flops don't offer a guarantee that you will have trimmer legs and bum from wearning them, nor do they offer a typical timeline before seeing results but they do have the words "Get a workout while you walk" imprinted on the bottom so I was expecting to feel something. So far, all I feel is my feet getting used to the bit that goes between my toes as it does hurt a little at first in a "new shoe" kind of way. Having said this I am very pleasantly surprised at the sheer comfort and bouncy cushioned sensation under my feet when I walk. It is very very pleasant and they are threatening to be the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned (once I get used to my new shoes and erradicate the pain of the toe thong that is..).

I will continue to wear my lovely pistachio coloured shelves from heaven and follow up with a final report on whether or not they make a difference to my legs and bum later on this summer.

  • So let's do a yoga challenge.-

Well, despite the fact that my back has got a lot better, it still niggles a bit and I feel a lot of mild pain when doing normal stuff.
I figure that it is probably time I was a lot more proactive about my bodily health so I am going to try different things to see if they help. The first is a gentle yoga routine...every day. The weekly yoga class that I go to seems to really help me the next day so I am going to see if a daily practice (that's what yogi's do) will help in the long run.

I'm going to try it for 2 weeks and document my progress on here. (That is if I manage to do it every day for two weeks... I have been known to ..er.... not have time on occasion but I will really try.)

So this is day 1. Back feels rubbish, achey and crappy. I have the constant feeling that I need to stretch it out.

    Let's go do some yoga!
